Welcome to Connect2 Community Church, Brown Edge.
About five years ago a few people from the village felt a need for a church that was more informal than usual but based around food, friendship and the Bible. We wanted a church where people were welcome wherever they were on life’s journey. So Connect2 was born, we take our inspiration from Jesus who would often meet and talk with people over food. So every meeting we eat together, nothing fancy but a decent meal that is prepared by ourselves and we eat and talk about the message we have just heard. The message is always based on the Bible, but it could involve a quiz, some discussion, writing on the paper table cloth, playing games or watching a short video. There is plenty of tea, coffee and juice available too. We hope that we can build a community of people who do more than just meet on a Sunday, that get to know each other and are there for life’s ups and downs.
We are fortunate enough to have a fantastic relationship with St Anne’s School and meet in their hall.
We are part of the Church of England fellowship but have been granted a Bishop’s Missional Order. This means that we are supported by and accountable to the Church of England for our work here in Brown Edge but we work independently of the existing parish structures.
Leadership
At Connect2 there are no full-time or paid leaders and a number of us take turns in leading our various meetings. However there is a small leadership group as stated in the Bishop’s Missional Order:
Alex Wolvers
Ian Wolvers
Anne Collins
Mark Hatcher

We believe…
From the earliest days of the Church, Christians developed short, simple summaries of their faith. These short statements became known as creeds.
The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen.
